Deep Tissue Massage no mater in what form or style it is use is not about force. As the name suggest it is about working deep in to muscle tissue and even accessing the deeper muscles that are underneath the superficial muscle layers. The has nothing to do with working with more force. It is about treating the body not only the muscle tissues in a way so that the body opens and welcomes you to work deeper effortlessly.
Working with force causes pain. This is one reason if not the main reason your client/patient is coming to you in the first place in hopes that you will rid them of their pains and not to add to their situation. By causing pain the body with close down, resist and even fight back causing the muscles to tense up and harden. As a result causing more pain it is simple a vicious cycle on the body and unfortunately crating more injury, pain and trauma to the body and mind.
Proper Deep Tissue Massage is a technique that focuses on working muscle tissue layer-by-layer, enabling access to the deeper layers as the superficial muscle layers relax. In this course you will learn you will learn how to work the deeper layers of muscles without resistance or adding unneeded trauma. As a result the muscle tissue is able to release chronic muscle tension. This technique is also effective at breaking up and eliminating scar tissue.
All the concepts, techniques and philosophies will integrate perfectly with any form of floor massage such as Thai massage, Breema massage, Shiatsu, etc. we will combine the element used in each and point out modalities used in them that actually cause injury especially when used in repetition.
The instructor René Diaz has been working in the clinical field as a therapist and instructor for over 20 years. He has also taught the massage therapists at 5 start resorts such as The Four Season worldwide. His knowledge of natural therapies comes from his training and experience working in clinics and spas but more so from being a patient himself when he suffered a spinal injury. Being the patient truly taught me the dos and don’ts of body work.
Deep tissue massage usually focuses on specific areas and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage. However, if the massage is done correctly, you should feel better than ever right away or within a day or two. Everyone’s response time varies but the end result is relief.
